About Cal and the team

Cal is an AI presenter

Cal isn't a real person. He's an AI-generated video character. He hasn't played the courses, stayed in the hotels or eaten in the restaurants, and he'll never claim to have done so.

We've been there

We only recommend hotels The Expat Caddie team has stayed in and golf courses we've played ourselves. If we wouldn't go back, it isn't on the site. Cal presents the picks, but the experience behind them is ours.

How we check the details

Prices, fees and policies change, so we check them against official course, hotel and tourism sources and show the date we last did. If we couldn't confirm something, we say so instead of guessing.

How we make money

Some links to hotels, tee times and activities are affiliate links. If you book through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commission never decides what we recommend. Only places we've been and liked make the list. See the affiliate disclosure.
